Lenders read your bank statements closely. In the months before you apply:
Your deposit may come from savings, a KiwiSaver withdrawal, or a gift from family. Lenders like to see a history of regular saving. If family is helping, the lender usually needs a gift letter, and your lawyer can explain what's involved.
You can request your credit report for free from the credit reporting agencies. If anything looks wrong, ask for it to be corrected before you apply. If there's something you can't change, tell us early so we can choose the right lender.
Every application leaves a mark on your credit file, so it's better to apply once, to the right lender. We'll help you choose and present your application well.
